OMGosh, Megan~~ I love it. The flowers and foliage are definitely appealing and the seed pods are a major bonus. I hope someone can ID it for you. I let my hybrid go to seed but it was blah. No, no doggies. Play on the other side of the yard.

I can see your information science brain at work here along with your artistic side. I don't know too many folks who keep such close track and can go back by date and show the entire wonderful cycle as you have here and elsewhere. I may never get how to do peonies, but am glad your had a good year.

Oh, on the flamingos, copy away! I would be honored and can see how they would totally fit in to your design aesthetic.

I love the series of photos. You were very diligent to remember to photograph at all stages! I've never let any of my peonies go to seed but I may have to rethink that. I haven't ever grown a species peony either ~ it's very delicate and the blooms remind me of a hellebore?? You have many unique plants in your garden. I like to push the boundaries of my zone too but I'm in zone 5 so I don't have the liberties you do. Leonotis is one of my favorites but I have to grow it as an annual.

Megan:
Saw 'species Peony' and had to visit.... gorgeous! I noticed the foliage emerges purple-burgundy... does it stay that way for long, and then take on a decidedly blue-grey tinge...... is it possible that you have the pink-white flowering P. mlokosewitschii?

Ok note to self...let the peonies go to seed next year! I wonder are they always this fabulous? Or have you just got a great plant?

Very nice sequence. I let my peonies go to seed this year too. The first time. I wonder if I'll get some seedlings. I hope so. I hope you get some too.
