Fall gems at the Leach Botanical Garden

Friday 23 October 2009 - Filed under Gardens + Plants

I headed out to the Leach Botanical Garden last weekend, hoping to catch my favorite katsura in the process of turning gold and releasing the fragrance of burnt sugar, but I was a little late, the leaves had mostly dropped already. It was perfect timing for little jewels – further proof that the party isn’t over when the skies transition from relentlessly to sunny to solid silver. I don’t have an ID for most of these so I’ll just the the photos speak for themselves.

You’ve captured the jeweled essence of fall, Megan.
These are beautiful photos. What a timely reminder to look closely at what the garden has to offer at this time of year. I haven’t been to Leach in forever…thanks for the nudge.

Love the photos and this is just what I needed to get us to finally visit Leach! Oh and THANK YOU for the positive spin on grey, from now on they are silver skies! I love it. Just what I needed to hear as I am dreading the return from the sun (more on that later) to the silver….
