Maybe that’s where it started – all things come from Grease 2

Thursday 19 November 2009 - Filed under General

I was re-watching Grease 2 last weekend, as I’m wont to do. Fact: that movie is terrific. I noticed a new detail this time around. There is Miss Stephanie Zinone, my first and long running girl crush, in front of a huge stand of yuccas and agaves. Maybe that’s one more way this movie had a lasting impact on my sense of style.

Ha on the yuccas. I just got back from Lowes and into my basket a yucca recurvafolia and hesperaloe somehow jumped in. Can’t figure that one out! Maybe because they were 50% off-I hope?

tina – how could you resist?
Loree – there’s the teeniest possibility that my judgment is clouded by the nostalgia.

A subliminal device instigated by the Yucca society!

Have never seen either Grease: obviously I’m missing something. But I’m still all warm and fuzzy (spiky?) about my brief stay in the land of yuccas and agaves, so I’m primed.

Tina, which Lowes still has hot weather plants now? I need to know!

Uh, missed that one, although G#1 was pretty hard to resist. Did the 2nd one have any good songs? You are probably one of very few people to pause Hollywood movies to look at plants, I’d guess. I love it.

Grace – I would very much like to believe there’s a yucca society secretly plotting somewhere.
Jane – Your photos from warmer climates had me reconsidering my location, I imagine you’re still dreaming of those plants.
Karen – I thought the songs were good (and a couple bad ones too). It was really unfortunate, the male lead got terrible songs, but if you fast forward through all of his scenes, I think it was mostly good stuff. Or I’ve just gotten so used to it, I can’t tell anymore.
Ricki – thanks for tagging me – I will check out your site and try to put together my post.
