It was an honest mistake

So I like my closet. More than is probably natural. It’s where I go when things are stressful, and I dust the shoes or re-sort the clothes by color, and it makes me happy. I stand back and look at the shoes and feel a sense of accumulated debt accomplishment. Because my shoes play a starring role in my mind, I sometimes forget they do not, in the eyes of the world. So when a guy at the store came up to us, and OBVIOUSLY was complimenting Justin’s awesome Nikes from his more impressive shoe collection than mine, I said “Thank you.” And now I am mortified forever. I vow to be more humble from now on.
While still being humble, I can’t help but notice that the spy who must follow me around to copy my stuff to put it in the Pottery Barn catalog has struck again. See my mirror in my closet with the resin roses that looked carved out of wood? I stalked it at an estate sale 5 years ago. I see that the remodeled Forever 21 store is totally copying me. I’m just saying.

SHOES!!!!!!
I think you should know, I spent 2 hours yesterday sweatily obsessing about a pair of beautiful black leather pointy toed Cole Haan heels that were on sale at The Rack. I tried them on maybe 500 times. Dane is frightened of what I might be capable of buying now.

Jesus Christ! That’s your closet? I keep expecting Lil’ Kim or Leona Helmsley to walk into one of those pictures.
Well done.

You should see the other side. My shirts are all color coded and my shoes are lined up above. Its really pretty amazing.

Shala – thank you! see, dude from the store, some people compliment my shoes!
Kiala – just wear them out for a day and tell me the world doesn’t look a little bit better from 4 inches up.
Dane – I feel like I should probably be suspicious of compliments that come with Leona Helmsley comparisons, but I’m strangely not worried about it, so thanks!
Justin – your sock drawer is next

I am available for adoption. (Sorry mom and dad.) I could roll out a sleeping bag on the floor next to the shoes. Just saying…
