In-laws are good

My fiancĂ©’s dad’s wife’s sister and brother in-law are exceptionally gracious hosts. Yes, there are the parties and the overnight accommodations and the home cooked meals. But honestly, this is the greatest home bar I have every known. By pure coincidence, their parties are always terribly entertaining. When I grow up, this is the kind of bar I want.

Are those Playboy martini glasses in the freezer? Do they have smoking jackets, too? Man.
Kiala’s already got dibs on the whole adoption angle… Do they swing? Not that we do or anything. Never had this kind of motivation before, though, either.

I’ve seen that fridge somewhere before. Think, Bill, where was it? Oh wait, I know — it was in my dreams. They say anything worth doing is worth doing right, and clearly that extends to drinking. Bravo! Now, how do I wrangle an invitation to one of those parties?

James – thank you! And your wife is Shala-what a small internet world, I had no idea. I like reading your blog too. And your dog pictures.
Dane & Kaila – I’m working on the adoption angle, we can see if they’re interested in a 4 pack of kids around 30. I think they’ll like the idea.
Justin – Pretty sure a smoking jacket is in the mix, and who knows about the rest. Doesn’t the saying go that everything is negotiable? Everyone is for sale? I forget.
Bill – here’s the plan. Next Christmas party up there, we smuggle you in as a long lost cousin.

what i never understand is how people can amass that much alcohol in their house at any one time and NOT drink it all.
i mean, it seems a day or two after i buy a bottle–no matter how big it is–it’s empty and in the recycling bin. i’d have to buy the liquor at a rate orders of magnitude faster than my rate of consumption in order to actually make headway.
unfortunately, at this point in my salary-lifetime, i just can’t spend 100 bucks a day on booze, so i will never have more than 3 bottles in my house at any one time.
nice selection though!
