Librissime

My first trip into Librissime on a charming street in old Montreal, I was so excited by all the beautiful books, I spent about a half hour putting my grubby mits on them, until Justin pointed out a $60,000 price tag and wondered aloud what all the white gloves scattered about were for. About then, I panicked and rushed out, for fear I’d spend the rest of my life paying off book debt. It took me a day to get my courage back and convince myself I had only been touching the inexpensive inventory from what they aptly describe as “Hyperstylish books & objects! From $ 9 up to $ 99,999,” so I could go back and pick up some Christmas gifts. The shop was a high-point of the trip to Montreal, definitely worth a special trip if you’re in the city. If you’re not, the web site is still a good source for something special.

It was part of my grand plan to change my layout without thoroughly testing, then skipping town so I have only an iPhone to update my CSS. I’m smart! Have to investigate when I get back from New Orleans. :(

haha – fair enough. Just makin’ sure you didn’t need a web design superstart to look at it. Ok – just kidding, but our resources are available if need be.

I almost wet myself for you, reading about the book-molesting…

Depending on when you made that trip, though, it might not have been too bad. Wasn’t so long ago that $60k Canadian was only like $1.86 US and you could buy your own Québécois man-servant for a five-spot.

Of course, that was before the dark times… before the Bush administration. Now you couldn’t pay a Canuck to wipe his ass with American currency.

Justin – yes, this happened after the US dollar turned to dust, so I the Québécois man-servant would have owned me instead.
Kiala – foto will be sending you a message via flickr shortly, and you should prepare yourself. foto has had to learn some street-smarts the hard way
